WWE Legend 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper Dies At 61

sports
Sad news out of the wrestling world tonight as legend “Rowdy” Roddy Piper has passed away at 61 years old after suffering a heart attack in his sleep.
Piper, born Roderick George Toombs, was found in his Hollywood home on Friday morning.
He was one of the biggest stars of the WWE during the 1980s and wrestled in the very first Wrestlemania back in 1985 where he fought against Hulk Hogan and Mr.T.
I am devastated at this news. Rod was a good friend as well as a client and one of the most generous, sincere and authentic people I have ever known. This is a true loss to us all.
Piper had been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2006 but late last year told reporters he was free of cancer.
Roddy was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and was voted inside the top 50 wrestling villains in the history of the WWE.
He wrestled as late as 2008 and appeared on various WWE shows up until 2014.
The father of four will be sorely missed by all in the wrestling community.
RIP “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Forever a legend.
